NEWS VEGA OFFICIALLY OPENS ITS NEW BUILDING

Ray Tregale, UK MD, and Isabel Grieshaber, VEGA CEO, cutting the ribbon to declare the building open

A

fter a ‘slightly COVID delayed’ build and hand-over, the official opening of VEGA’s new building had to be slightly delayed too. Fortunately, this also coincided with the 40th anniversary of the

founding of VEGA UK, so a celebration was well overdue! On May the 25th 2022, guests from all over the UK, Ireland and

Germany were welcomed to the new UK headquarters. The event began with a welcome reception in the new training and demonstration areas. The building, named Metior House, was officially declared open and the ribbon cut by Isabel Grieshaber, the CEO of VEGA Grieshaber, and Ray Tregale, the UK Managing Director. After lunch and music in the new cafe, guests toured the building,

sampling products, as well as learning about the varied industries that VEGA are engaged in. This was followed by an evening gala dinner with music and entertainment. Ray Tregale said: “Along with our exciting product portfolio, this

high quality building is our vision and investment for the long term. We have carefully designed a spacious office, service centre, flexible training and seminar facility for generations to come.” He added: “It demonstrates our ongoing commitment to support our colleagues, product users and engineers from all industries.” This award-winning, carbon-neutral building features ample

working space to provide support and service for everyone. “We’re already busy hosting seminars and training courses for all types of businesses, the feedback has been excellent, and we’re looking forward to welcoming many more people here,” Tregale concluded.

www.vega.com/uk CONSIDERED ASKING FOR A PAY RISE? W

ith the news that UK pay has fallen at its fastest rate on record, Forbes Advisor conducted a survey of 5,100 Brits to discover how many have considered asking for a pay rise due

to the cost of living crisis, amongst other issues. The survey found that the manufacturing sector is among the worst

for offering staff pay rises - employers in this industry are not so open- handed with voluntarily giving out a pay rise, with only 5% offering their staff compensation. Within manufacturing, 70.3% of employees considered asking for a

pay rise (above the national average of 68%) - however only 16.8% actually asked for one. Just 17.5% of these employees who asked received a pay rise on

request, which is considerably below the national average of 26%. As mentioned, out of the total of 5,100 people surveyed, 3,546 (68%)

people revealed they have considered asking their employer for a pay rise. The highest number of respondents answering yes were those aged between 35-44 at 75%. The age group which were least likely to consider asking for a pay rise were those aged over 54, at 69%. Regionally, those living in the East Midlands were the most likely to

consider asking for a pay rise, with 76% of respondents answering yes. https://www.forbes.com/uk/advisor
