Kistler launches world's first charge amplifier with IO-Link technology

A new flexible, miniature charge amplifier with IO- Link, a world first from Kistler, com- plies with industrial communications networking stan- dard (IEC 61131-9) and combines ana- logue and digital

communication technology to pave the way for In- dustry 4.0. The new charge amp is ideal for appli- cations over a wide range of industry sectors, including robotics, packaging, food and beverage, as well as OEM’s. Its small size L 38mm x W 25mm x H 31.4mm including the output connections and its low weight of only 30g means that the amplifier can be installed where space is at a premium, such as robotic heads and other moving parts. The 5028A charge amplifier is the first of its type to use IO-Link technology where analogue output signals from piezoelectric sensors sends digital communications data. The new amp delivers digi- tal data that is resistant to interference from distur- bance variables and end-to-end communication all the way through to sensor level.

ESAB Europe Xpanse virtual event runs live from 27-29 April

Industry leader ESAB will showcase more than 50 new welding and cutting systems, mechanised and automated technology, welding filler metals, PPE and more. Xpanse mimics the company’s real-world trade show stand. Visitors can tour the stand with their mouse and keyboard, use an overhead map view to visit specific areas and take a guided tour based on preference. To learn more, visitors can download product fact sheets, brochures and watch more than 50 videos featuring and, during show hours, chat live with ESAB product and process experts. The vir- tual event also features ESAB University, ESAB’s extremely popular dedicated learning area in its real-world trade show stands.

Interroll expands performance range of its synchronous drum motors

With the new drive, which meets the highest hygiene require- ments, dynamic and automated material flow solutions can be implemented very economically to transport an even more com- prehensive range of goods via a single conveyor system. The new DM 0138 synchronous drum motor extends Interroll's proven range of high-performance synchronous motors upwards to open up new applications for customers and users, particularly in highly dynamic logistics centres and in the food industry. Like

the existing DM 0080 and DM 0113 series, the new DM 0138 offers maximum acceleration and braking performance with very low energy consumption and the ability to precisely position conveyed goods on a system without the use of additional sensors, greatly simplifying the integration of packaging and other processing machines into an automated flow of goods, for example.

On the level, sticky situations resolved with RF Admittance coating rejection

The coating rejection capability of the Drexelbrook RF Admittance level technology is key to its success in the measurement of highly viscous media. Drexelbrook’s patented, proven Cote-Shield™ technology is able to ignore coating build-up on the probe ensuring accuracy and reliability with the elimination of false trips, regardless of product accumulation on the level transmitter.

This makes Drexelbrook level transmitters ideally suited for level measurement in applications involving adhesives, bitumen (asphalt), cement, tarmac, pitch & resins. Furthermore, other features such as its remote electronics ensure immunity to the high temperatures, pressures and significant vibration that are often associated with these manufacturing processes.

Abacus cold mains water meter type Em scaled 0 - 999 litres in steps of 1 litre

Addding a preset quan- tity of water to a mix has long been carried out using pails or hosepipes. Not very accurate and certainly not consistent. Now, Hertfordshire company Aquameter has developed the ABACUS digital water measuring system for dispensing ac- curate preset quantities of water straight into mix-

ing vessels, tanks, etc. Easy to install and simple to use, the ABACUS delivers repeatable results day in, day out, reliably and consistently.

Thousands of units have been sold worldwide to a whole variety of

industries where water is added to powders or granules for mixing

purposes. Just dial in the batch amount required and press the start

button. The unit stops the flow of water when the required quantity has been delivered...... easy!
