PRODUCTS RACKS, CABINETS & ENCLOSURES SUBRACK FAMILY OPTIMISED TO SUIT VARIOUS APPLICATIONS

he KM6 subrack family from Verotec comprises three different systems, the KM6-II, KM6-RF and KM6-HD, each of which is optimised to suit a range of applications. Front panels, compatible with all KM6 versions, are a critical building block and three types are available: unshielded to IEC 60297, shielded to IEEE

T

1101.10 and a further design dedicated to the VXI architecture. Two and four rail modules, which can be fitted with top, bottom and side covers to enclose, screen and protect the PCB are available in 3U and 6U heights, 160 and 220mm depths and a range of widths from 10 to 42HP. Iridite NCP conductive finish extruded shielded panels are fitted with a double swipe stainless steel EMC gasket. They are available as blank filler panels, with a fixed pull handle or with an improved design of injector/ejector latching handle that generates greater insertion and extraction force for use with high pin count backplane connectors. The injector/ejector handles include

a pre-location pin and an ESD protection pin; a live extraction micro switch and additional screw fixings are optional extras. Shielded panels are available in 3U, 6U and 9U heights and 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 and 12HP widths as standard, other widths are available to order. Unshielded versions are available

as blank panels or with pull handles in 3U and 6U heights and widths from 2HP to 84HP. Both types are available either with both faces anodised and plastic screw mounting bushes or, where electrical conductivity with the subrack frame is required, with an anodised front face, an iridite NCP rear face and metal fixing bushes. www.verotec.co.uk

ACTIVE ENCLOSURES

SINGLE ENCLOSURE SERVES MULTIPLE CONTROLLERS

Standardisation of control gear and switchgear is one of the most effective ways to reduce engineering and configuration costs. This is true for products both large and small – as Rittal demonstrates with its new RiLine Compact busbar system. These busbars do not require holders, and have end-to-end contact hazard protection. Switching and protective devices can be connected quickly and easily – saving time and effort during engineering and downstream installation. Manufacturers are moving away from stand-alone power distribution enclosures for individual control

units. Instead, they are looking to create an overarching system within a single enclosure, serving multiple controllers – each one assigned to a specific machine. The RiLine Compact, designed for control units that require a maximum current of 125 A, addresses this need. Despite its size, the busbar system distributes power effectively and reliably, in compliance with all applicable standards. RiLine Compact marks Rittal’s entry into a new market

segment for low-current power distribution. It comprises a board with busbars entirely enclosed in covers that safeguard against unintentional contact. A connection can be easily established anywhere along the length of a busbar via a series of access apertures (called the pitch pattern) in the board. Switchgear and control units can be simply “plugged in” using a variety of adaptors. In addition, an adaptor for connection to round conductors is available, as well as a variety of functional modules for motor and power control. www.rittal.com

CamdenBoss has launched a range of DIN Rail enclosures enabling quick and easy contact with a powered “active” track within the DIN Rail. Multiple enclosures from the company’s CNMB, CDIB and CVB-Plus ranges can be used in conjunction with the new active power track, connecting via specially developed 5mm pitch terminal blocks. Terminal blocks are available for both horizontal or vertical mounting PCB options within the standard CamdenBoss DIN Rail enclosures. Active tracks feature five bus lines

manufactured from tin and nickel plated copper within a black PVC extrusion. Each power line is rated up to 63V at 5A. Five lines allows the customer to use power or data bus bars as their system requires. This allows implementation of many protocols including RS232, RS485, 12

C etc. The active DIN system allows

enclosures to be removed and refitted quickly and easily without affecting other units on the rail. Exposed parts of the active power track can be protected using plastic covers. End caps provide further protection and a neat aesthetic finish. www.camdenboss.com
