TECHNOLOGY IN ACTION ADVERTORIAL

Astute Electronics signs LEMO A

stute Electronics, has signed a franchise agreement with LEMO, the renowned Swiss manufacturer of precision connectors used

Amphenol’s Enhanced Connectors

A mphenol Industrial Products Group, has

enhanced its Max M12 product line to include board level connectors that mate to a PCB board with straight or right angle solder pins. These new connectors are ideal for high speed data transmission devices found in harsh environments.

Max M12 can easily transmit high speed data in environments where there is high vibration, moisture, salt, dirt and debris Applications include camera and communication systems on construction, mining and agricultural equipment as well as rail and mass transit communication systems and for ruggedized factory automation.

in a variety of challenging application environments. “We are delighted to add LEMO to our growing portfolio of electromechanical suppliers”, commented divisional manager, Gary Evans. “Products such as the company’s M series, the smallest multi- pin, full shielded, vibration-secure and sealed connector available, offering a lightweight connection with high pin-count density, 3600 EMC shielding protection, the lightweight, high temperature F series targeting the defence, autosport and other harsh markets, and the T series, an update of LEMO’s staple B series with a higher contact density and IP68 rating, will be of great benefit to our customer base.” Also of interest to Astute’s defence business is LEMO’s recently announced new NiCorAl surface treatment. This finish is a specially formulated Nickel Teflon finish in Anthracite dark grey colour and has been developed particularly for the aluminium alloy bodied M Series ratchet coupling range of connectors which are proving to be an excellent and significantly smaller alternative to MIL 38999 connectors.

hese High impact IP68 rated die cast enclosures are available in Natural Aluminium as well as powder coated Silver Grey and Black. Manufactured in corrosion resistant aluminium alloy with stainless steel screws, and an impact resistance of up to 7 joules (IEC 60079- 0:2004), these cases are suitable for safely enclosing electronic components, PCBs or e-mech components such as relays and switches.

IP68 Die Cast T

They come in 6 sizes and can withstand temperatures ranging from -60 C to +200 C in

areas that are generally considered too harsh for other enclosure materials. The enclosures can be punched with holes and slots to your exact specification and printed to customise with legends and your company logo.

If the type and dimensional size of the enclosure you need is not immediately available on our website, our experienced sales team will search for the best solution to meet your requirements.

Time Sensor, namely the WinTec P1KY001, is distinguished by its minimal housing size (22 x 32 x 12 mm) and an enormous working range of 1000 mm. Equipped with wenglor’s legendary interference-free (WinTec)

technology interference-free detection of

black or glossy objects even at extremely inclined angles, wenglor is once again laying claim to technology leadership

in the field of Photoelectronic Sensors with this new product. Despite its extremely small size, the new P1KY001 Transit Time Sensor includes numerous capabilities which permit use in complex automation applications. For example, the high-performance triple-dot laser diode (laser class 1) even detects black and glossy objects with unsurpassed precision at a switching frequency of 1000 Hz. Predestined for temperatures ranging from -40 to +50° C, the P1KY001 is even in demand in extremely adverse environments, for example in cold storage facilities.

Thinnest insulation solution.

anasonic Automotive & Industrial Systems Europe has recently unveiled a thermal insulation sheet which is the thinnest insulation solution currently available on the market. The NASBIS (Nano Silica Balloon Insulation Sheet) high-performance thermal

P

insulation sheet comes with a thickness of 50m, 100 m, 500 m, or 1000 m and an ultra low thermal conductivity of 0.018 to 0.024 W/mK. This

very low thermal conductivity of convection is achieved thanks to a pore diameter which is smaller than mean free path of air (68nm).

NASBIS is made of a material called aerogel. This is a synthetic porous material derived from a gel, but in which the normal liquid component of the gel has been replaced with gas. In addition to its ultra low thermal conductivity, aerogel benefits from a low sound propagation of 120m/s, low bulk density of 0.050 up to 0.250g/cm³, high transparency of 90% up to 94% at 10mmt, a refractive index like air of 1.015 up to 1.055, as well as high porosity of 90% up to 98%.
