INTERCONNECTION Neutrick’snew tricks
This month, while attending the Southern Manufacturing and Electronics Show, Electronics Today spoke to Jesse Dobie from Neutrik UK Ltd. to fi nd out more about them, their products and how they were getting on at the show…
T
he Neutrik Group develops, designs, manufactures, and globally distributes innovative electrical and electronic interconnect products and systems under the NEUTRIK, REAN and CONTRIK brands. As a multi-brand company, Neutrik Group has long dominated the world of professional entertainment and industrial applications, setting new standards in a wide range of segments. With about 1,000 employees, the Neutrik Group is a global leader in audio, video, power, and data connectors, digital network components, and power distribution and potential equalization systems.
Hello Jesse, what are Neutrik doing here at the show this year?
We are here to promote our brand and out products of interconnect technology. Neutrik comes from the AV and we are very well known for our locking solutions, providing mission critical performance in harsh environments. A lot of our products work in other industries, including water-proof or harsh weather environments, that we’re not perhaps as well-known for, so we’re here at the show to demonstrate these products, reach new customers and fi nd these new markets.
Where is Neutrik heading in the future? Neutrik is currently in a really exciting stage of growth and development, having recently formed the Neutrik Group, housing three brands: Neutrik, REAN and CONTRIK. With a portfolio covering from copper connectors all the way through to heavy duty power and fi breoptics. In the future, we hope to be a full- package provider for a number of customers with various product and service needs. Neutrik, coming from the entertainment industry, have developed a number of products which are applicable for harsh environments and other applications. Starting with our Data Connectors, from standard RJ45s we’ve developed a locking solution and been able to apply this to other data connectors with our opticalCon range,
which goes from two-chan optical all the way up to 48 channel MTP.
One of our most successful series is in our twist-lock power connectors, which can range from 16 amps 240v up to 32 amp connectors and a number of our products are available in UV protection, IP rating and harsh environment applications. We really believe our products have a lot to offer to new industries, particularly in the way we handle our products and their development and innovation. This is made evident by the successes we have had in the past. Recently, we have been looking for ways to optimise and improve our existing product range, from the recent re-design of our powerCON range, through to implementing new boots and designs for easier termination of our powerCON TRUE 1. Innovation is at the heart of all of our products, whether it’s in the way they mechanically work or even the materials and composites that go into their design. Neutrik as a brand has stood on innovation and development for the last forty-fi ve years and we’re excited to be expanding into new industries.
