ADVERTORIAL TECHNOLOGY IN ACTION
CeramTec drawing tools consist either completely of ceramic or, in a more cost-effective alternative, of a ceramic steel composite, where ceramic is only used in the wear area. This allows the ceramic rings to be replaced in composite solutions. Copyright: CeramTec
ESAB launches WeldCloud Notes document management software
E
SAB Welding & Cutting Products has introduced WeldCloud Notes PQR/WPS document management
software as part of its ESAB Digital Solutions suite of online management tools. WeldCloud Notes enables companies to better perform four essential tasks: • Maintain quality and compliance while managing PQR (procedure qualification records) and WPS (welding procedure specifications) documents in one place;
• Efficiently review all of its PQR, WPS and WPQ (weld procedure qualifications) information with a quick and easy search feature (view video);
• Generate a PQR or WPQ with all essential variables; • Prevent missing a qualification expiration date or wasting time and money on requalifying welders.
“WeldCloud Notes helps companies increase productivity,
reduce costs, avoid liabilities and improve quality assurance during project execution,” says Ludvig Enlund, General Manager Digital Solutions, ESAB. “This online software tool enables every relevant person on a project to access information, search for the correct qualifications, create welding procedures, introduce welding records, keep track of production and print reports for all the activity completed.”

Why ceramic tools are indispensable for wire drawing In this process, the wire is guided like the rope of a
ire drawing is one of the earliest industrial applications for alumina ceramics, dating back to
the early 1960s, and the highly resistant materials guarantees the best wire quality. CeramTec has more than 60 years of expertise in producing ceramic rollers and drawing cones for wire drawing. The material properties are permanently adapted
to the increasing requirements and to that end, CeramTec operates with a specifically developed test centre to scientifically analyse interactions. The result of this rigorous testing and developing are long service lives and significantly extended machine running times. The production of copper wires of various diameters
starts with a wire rod which has a diameter of 8 mm. Wire drawing machines pull the soft material over drawing tools until the desired end thickness of the wire is achieved. This can range from 4.5 mm wires to the thinnest ones with a diameter of 0.025 mm.
Euroquartz launches new ultra-low phase noise crystal oscillators for automotive applications F
requency control specialist, Euroquartz has launched a new range of surface mount ultra-low phase noise crystal oscillators designed for use in automotive applications.
Offering wide operating temperature range from -40 to +125°C, the
new XOY series automotive crystal oscillators feature superior phase noise performance of -155dBc/Hz at 10kHz and -160dBc at 100kHz offset. Femtosecond integrated phase jitter is 150fs typical (12kHz to 20MHz) and frequencies available range from 1.25 to 50MHz. The new automotive grade components are housed in a 3.2 x 2.5mm
surface mount package with supply voltages of 1.8, 2.5 and 3.3V (±10%) available. Additional specifications include 15pF LVCMOS load, rise time of 10ns maximum, start-up time of 5ms maximum and tri- state function as standard.

Kistler launches world's first charge amplifier with IO-Link technology
standard (IEC 61131-9) and combines analogue and digital communication technology to pave the way for Industry 4.0. The new charge amp is ideal for applications over a wide range of industry sectors, including robotics, packaging, food and beverage, as well as OEM’s. Its small size L 38mm x W 25mm x H 31.4mm including the output connections and its low weight of only 30g means that the amplifier can be installed where space is at a premium, such as robotic heads and other moving parts.
A The 5028A charge amplifier is the first of its type to use IO-Link technology where analogue output signals from
piezoelectric sensors sends digital communications data. The new amp delivers digital data that is resistant to interference from disturbance variables and end-to-end communication all the way through to sensor level.

new flexible, miniature charge amplifier with IO-Link, a world first from Kistler, complies with industrial communications networking
hoist through the different rollers or cones, thereby transferring the extreme tensile force which is required for forming onto the wire. These forces put high levels of stress on the drawing tools, and technical ceramics such as alumina and zirconium oxide are particularly well suited due to their mechanical strength, thermal stability and chemical resistance, resulting in very good wire quality.
Ceramic materials matched to wire type Zirconium oxide, typically of a dark yellow colour, is generally used for non-ferrous metal wires, respectively precious metals. Ceramic components include, among others, caps, cones and guide elements in wire drawing machines for copper wires, coated wires and special steel wires. The material is also used in the pipe calibration process after welding.

Wieland’s New sensor PRO safety limit switches ensure a safe, reliable position monitoring solution
T
he new sensor PRO safety limit switches (series SLS) from
Wieland provide safe position monitoring in virtually any industrial application. With a metal actuator that can be turned and swapped without tools, sensor PRO SLS switches are a highly reliable position monitoring solution rated to IP66/ 67. Series SLS switches
are suitable for use in conveyor object detection, end-position control, door position detection, and many other safety applications. Actuation of the switch contacts is monitored by Wieland’s safety relays, samos®PRO COMPACT safety controller, or similar devices and will shut down the machine immediately, addressing any safety hazard. The new switches have self-cleaning contacts that
provide a maximum reliability of 1mA at 24VDC and a life of up to 30 million operations.
