EMI FILTER MODULES FOR MILITARY AND DEFENCE APPLICATIONS

NEW FANS FOR COOLING ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS

The DiaForce range of cooling fans from EBM-Papst, which are designed specifically for cooling electronic systems, are now available from Inelco Hunter. Systems that process huge amounts of

data are becoming increasingly powerful, and cooling is becoming a challenge in a variety of industries such as telecommunications and automation. To increase cooling capacity, two axial fans are often connected in series. However, EBM-Papst’s DiaForce fan can be used instead of twin conventional axial fans. DiaForce combines a high-performance

motor with an impeller and housing geometries. The innovative design of the components for the flow machine minimises the main vortices that cause noise. In addition to the DiaForce 120, two further sizes – 40mm and 80mm – are now also available.

DiaForce 80 suits applications such as server trays and high-performance power supply units with high performance and pleasant noise characteristics; DiaForce 40 benefits routers, switches, network technology, industrial automation, control systems and robotics.

Now available from Relec Electronics are Cincon’s MF10 and MF20 EMI filter modules. These, the company explains, offer engineers a solution to electromagnetic compatibility. These new modules are designed specifically

to help designers meet MIL-STD-461 (F & G) requirements, critical for any equipment deployed in harsh military or aerospace environments. The MF10D075P and MF20D075P are designed to pair with their eighth-brick and quarter-brick DC-DC converters respectively, including models such as: • CQB50W8, CEB100W, CQB150W • ECLB60W, ECLB75W This plug-and-play approach reduces the need

for bulky discrete filtering components (such as inductors, capacitors, beads), saving development time on EMC compliance while keeping your project compact, cost-effective and compliant. The modules offer an operating temperature

from -55˚C to +110˚C; industry standard heatsink and mounting options; and shock and vibration compliance to MIL-STD 810F. Applications are said to be in avionics,

ground vehicles, and any application where electromagnetic chaos is the norm.

MULTIFUNCTIONAL SAFETY RELAY MONITORS TWO SAFETY FUNCTIONS WITH JUST ONE DEVICE

Up to two safety functions can be monitored with just one device thanks to Phoenix Contact’s PSRuni multifunctional safety relay. The relay offers a multifunctional safety solution for a variety of applications. With PSRuni L, configuration is carried out directly on the device. Compatibility with numerous sensors and actuators enables seamless integration into existing systems. The safety relay is particularly suitable for monitoring emergency stops, safety doors, and light grids, for example. In addition to multifunctionality and use in both single-channel and two-channel operation, the PSRuni safety relay meets very high safety standards up to SIL 3 and PL e. Furthermore the device is user-friendly with its automatic or manual monitored start feature, push-in conductor connection, and easy installation and maintenance.

BIPOLAR JUNCTION TRANSISTOR RANGE IS EXPANDED

Nexperia has expanded its bipolar junction transistor (BJTs) portfolio by introducing 12 new MJD-style BJTs in clip-bonded FlatPower (CFP15B) packaging. The new MJPE-series addresses the demand for more power- efficient and cost-effective designs in both industrial and automotive applications. The portfolio includes six automotive- qualified (e.g. MJPE31C-Q) and six industrial-grade types (e.g. MJPE44H11),

with VCEO ratings of 50 V, 80 V, and 100 V, and collector currents (IC) of 2 A, 3 A, and 8 A. Both NPN and PNP variants are available.

52 DESIGN SOLUTIONS JULY/AUGUST 2025

Used in diverse applications such as power supplies for battery management systems (BMS), on-board chargers in electric vehicles (EV), and back-lighting for video displays, the CFP15B-packaged BJTs maintain equivalent thermal performance (up to 175˚C operation for automotive applications) while offering a 53% smaller soldering footprint. Furthermore, the clip technology of the CFP15B package supports exceptional mechanical robustness.
