With National Apprentice week happening just a couple of weeks ago, the intensity of focus on new blood, youth and imagination coming into the industry is only getting stronger. It’s a very clear message that the companies who accept and encourage new talent with apprenticeships, training schemes and any other strategy that works for them are the companies moving towards a brighter future.

I was recently honoured to attend the spectacular 13th annual CIBSE Awards at Grosvenor House Hotel in London, where the best and most sparkling examples of the industry dined,


This issue, features include Data Centres, Wireless Technology and Electrical services, alongside a focus on Offsite Construction and a first glimpse at the spectacular HVACR Live. Big names such as Victaulic, Schneider and Lochinvar have contributed their views and advice regarding the latest in these areas.


As Graham Martin, CEO of EnOcean Alliance explains in this month’s Wireless Technology feature, the key to productivity in the modern workplace is


creating the perfect environment for those working there. Recent advancements in lighting, heating and even sound technologies for big buildings are moving the workplace towards a more tailored and ultimately healthier environment. With UK temperatures and weather in general becoming more changeable, this can only be considered a crucial consideration for future developments and one I greatly look forward to experiencing.
