ELECTRICAL SERVICES


Property services specialist, DMA Group, has been appointed by leading health and beauty company Coty UK, to deliver a large mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) project at its cosmecs manufacturing site in Ashford, Kent.


he manufacturing site features a pre-weighing facility where raw ingredients are handled and weighed prior to the manufacturing process. This self-contained facility, which features a smart plant room, houses the company’s mechanical plant and

equipment and is built within the confines of the building envelope within the existing warehouse.


Ingredients are brought into an ‘open product’ dispensing area to


be precisely measured in dispensing booths, which can often result in dust escaping into the atmosphere. The booths are downflow chambers with supply air entering through a ceiling grille and exiting through a low-level extract grille. This ensures the operator is protected from contaminated air.


The first phase of this £700k project, which concludes in spring 2020, sees DMA Group provide a number of integrated services including heating, ventilation, chilled water, hot water, steam, compressed air and all the electrical lighting and power services to ensure Coty UK’s new pre-weighing facility operates safely, efficiently and compliantly. Outside of these specialist areas, the rest of the facility has a supply and extract system that provides ventilation to encourage air flow from ‘sealed product’ areas to ‘open product’ zones.
