cross the two events, it welcomed around 120 guests from a variety of businesses within the industry for an exclusive hands-on look at the new
MecFlow products.
At each event a panel discussion took place, led by Genuit Group’s Built Environment Development Director, Phil Henry, which aimed to tackle some of the key topics facing the construction industry, from the skills gap to the use of modern methods of construction within the UK.
Panellists for the London event included: -
Colin Ainger, Partner, HTA Design
Ian Crickmore, Technical Director, Polypipe Building Services
Kwame Ohene-Adu, Associate Partner, HTA Design
Panellists for Manchester included: -
Katharine Saunders, Partner, Trowers & Hamlins LLP
Richard Crosby, Director, Seismic Group Ltd
Peter McDermott, Professor of Construction Procurement, University of Salford
Ian Crickmore, Technical Director, Polypipe Building Services
Attendees were also given the opportunity to gain CPD points in our CIBSE-accredited session on ‘Sustainable Design, Methodology & Building Lifecycle’ delivered by Business Development Manager for Polypipe Advantage, Gavin Robinson. There were a number of live demos around both events as well as a pull-up bar challenge, which proved to be very competitive. Made from the product itself, attendees were given the chance to demonstrate their strength – and the strength of the product – in the challenge. The expansion has broadened capabilities in helping customers to achieve complete, robust supply systems for commercial and high-rise projects. The new range is now split into two product types - MecFlow Fusion and
MecFlow Press - which together form a fully comprehensive supply system from the basement or plant room to risers, runouts and apartments.
Andy Cullum, Managing Director of Polypipe Building Services, commented: “Our heritage in commercial building construction means that we know how important it is for specifiers and contractors to have confidence in the products they choose, and crucially that these products are up to the demanding standards expected. “This is why our Terrain products have long been the go-to choice for drainage systems, and now the expanded MecFlow Supply Systems range offers the same robust, high quality choice for supply applications. “This broader MecFlow range has been specifically developed to make it easier to achieve a strong, durable installation across a full commercial project – from plant rooms right through to apartments.” The expanded MecFlow system is backed by Polypipe Building Services’ expert technical support as well as detailed sustainability information in the form of EPDs – making it straightforward to understand the environmental aspects of the system.
