Sunamp announces Thermino heat battery now compatible with Midea R290 heat pump series
F
rankfurt, 17 March 2025: For the first time, customers can now buy a super-compact heat battery that is compatible with Midea heat pumps, and also works with solar PV and grid electricity to take advantage of off-peak tariffs. The heat battery eliminates the need for a traditional hot water cylinder
with the R290 M thermal Arctic HT heat pump series. UK company Sunamp, a world leader in thermal storage technologies, has developed new Optimino key
technology that enables its Thermino xPlus heat battery to integrate seamlessly with the Midea R290 M thermal Arctic HT heat pump range. When paired together, they improve efficiency, save valuable space and enable all households to transition to net-zero heating. The compatibility breakthrough means homeowners can enjoy all the benefits of a heat pump without
requiring bulky hot water storage, opening up new possibilities for properties where space constraints have been a barrier to adoption. Making the announcement today at ISH in Frankfurt, the world's leading trade fair for HVAC + Water, Sunamp CEO Andrew Bissell encouraged OEM customers of Midea heat pumps to take advantage of the innovation: “With our Optimino technology, our heat battery is now fully compatible with Midea heat pumps from the R290 M thermal Arctic HT series, offering a streamlined, efficient solution for hot water storage. We invite OEM customers to reach out and explore how this can enhance their heat pump offerings leveraging Sunamp’s extensive patent portfolio and IP leadership.” This advancement is expected to drive greater adoption of heat pump technology by making installation
easier and improving overall system performance. As energy efficiency becomes a growing priority, the combination of Sunamp’s heat battery and Midea heat pumps represents a significant step forward for sustainable home heating solutions.

vantum, a leading Swedish heat pump manufacturer, has introduced the Young Energy Ambassadors program to foster the next generation of energy leaders. This initiative will provide young individuals with opportunities to learn about energy policy and the heating and cooling
sector. In return the company gets help with scouting new innovations. Participants will gain hands-on experience in smart energy solutions, working closely with industry experts.
They will attend conferences and events such as ISH 2025 and EU Sustainable Energy Week, together with Qvantum experts, helping them to develop practical skills and professional connections. "We believe empowering young minds is essential for the future of energy," said Thomas Nowak, Vice
President of Public Relations and Government Affairs. "The Young Energy Ambassadors will learn from Qvantum experts and bring a fresh perspective to our view of the world. It’s a mutual gain and essential to move forward fast in the energy transition." Qvantum is excited to embark on this journey and looks forward to the innovative contributions from the
Young Energy Ambassadors. The next Young Energy Ambassadors can soon apply for the autumn placement on the Qvantum webpage.
