ADVERTORIALS
ROTRONIC IS A LEADING MANUFACTURER R
otronic products are specified throughout industry for the reliable measurement and
control of processes; together with environmental monitoring. They are also installed in buildings of all types, research organisations, test houses and leisure facilities. High accuracy measurement, sensor stability and reliability are available as standard. Technical specifications for the entire product
range are readily available on the Rotronic website
www.rotronic.co.uk The wide range comprises handhelds; loggers including the continuous environmental monitoring system (RMS) with all data available securely anywhere with alarms; probes suitable for all applications with wide measurement ranges; transmitters including ATEX rated sensors for potentially explosive environments with analogue and digital outputs for controllers, and meteorological sensors for external measurements for the building management system (BMS). In the UK Rotronic has UKAS 0766 / ISO 17025 accreditation for temperature, humidity
helds;
and dew point laboratory calibration to confirm individual sensor performance. Sensors can be adjusted if necessary, thereby ensuring long service life.

ION SCIENCE LAUNCHES PORTABLE SF6 LEAKMATE LEAK DETECTOR
I
ON Science has launched the portable SF6 (sulphur hexafluoride) LEAKMATE leak detector.
The cost effective, easy to use instrument offers selectable sensitivity and automatic zero. It is ideally suited for simple leak detection applications on SF6 switchgear, service and maintenance in SF6 switchgear production and mobile leak detection on test equipment for differential pressure, mass flow, etc. The SF6 LEAKMATE features an audible alarm and LED bar graph display, allowing estimation if a small, medium or big leak is being detected. The instrument automatically compensates all ambient influences like temperature changes or movement of air. Intelligent control sets up the device appropriately for the ambient situation. It then uses the present gas concentration as its zero line and begins to look for even higher gas concentrations, which occur when a leak is approached. It is possible to determine leaks even in seriously contaminated areas.

HYDROGEN CAR DRIVES FOR EFFICIENCY WORLD RECORD
the world’s most efficient hydrogen fuelled car has used Sensor Technology’s TorqSense torque sensor to determine that their next generation vehicle needs a custom designed and built hub motor. Green Team Twente tested the angular speed of the shaft and the actual torque
A
generated. By measuring the input current and voltage of the motor controllers, they could determine the combined mechanical and electrical efficiency of the drivetrain. The power supply of the motor controllers and torque sensor can be read using the integral LabVIEW software. The tests showed that the drivetrain performed many times better in theory than in
practice, and therefore that there was room for improvement. Based on the test, the choice was made to develop a new hub motor, in which the optimum efficiency is geared to the desired range.

IN-BOX TRANSPARENT-LID ENCLOSURES NOW IN PC – 16 SIZES
OKW’s IN-BOX: The transparent-lid version is now available in tough polycarbonate
O
KW has further expanded its range of IN-BOX industrial electronic enclosures. The transparent-lid version is now available in polycarbonate (PC) for extra strength and
flammability resistance. These popular and tough plastic enclosures for terminal installations suit a wide
range of applications including digital and analogue instrumentation, sensors, interfaces, security systems, HVAC, machine building, construction equipment, Smart Factory and Industry 4.0.
IN-BOX offers high levels of impact resistance (IK07/08) and ingress protection (IP
66/67); the sealing gasket is pre-foamed in the top. Quarter-turn stainless steel lid screws speed up installation and maintenance.
The enclosures can be mounted on a wall, either directly or with brackets (accessory)
for external installations. Inside, there are screw pillars for DIN rails, PCBs and mounting plates.
IN-BOX is available as standard in light grey (RAL 7035) in a choice of high-gloss plastics: ABS (UL 94 HB, IK07) or polycarbonate (UL 94 V-2, IK08). The transparent-lid versions can be specified in either ABS/PC or now PC for higher impact and flammability ratings. The PC enclosures comply with fire safety standard UL 94 5V (better than V-0), although the material has only the classification V-2.
Three versions of IN-BOX (opaque lid ABS, transparent lid ABS/PC and new transparent
lid PC) are available in 16 sizes from 84 x 82 x 55 mm to 302 x 232 x 110 mm. An opaque lid PC version is available in 10 sizes from 84 x 82 x 55 mm to 302 x 232 x 110 mm. Prices for the new models start at £17.
Accessories include pressure equalisation elements, cable grommets, security kits,
wall-mounting brackets, internal hinges, mounting plates, DIN rails (TH15, TH35) and self- tapping screws for mounting assemblies inside.
OKW can supply IN-BOX full customised. Services include CNC machining, printing of parts and labels, laser marking, decor foils, EMC shielding, installation and assembly.
