Chell Instruments Make Connection Break-Through
W
orld-renowned gas measurement specialists Chell Instruments, have unveiled a new aluminium
pneumatic connector which will create instant time and money savings within innovative industries. This unique and innovative connector, connects and disconnects pneumatic lines/pipes easily and hassle-free. Chell Instruments initially created this versatile connector to meet stringent aerospace environmental requirements and speed up system installation and reconfiguration. “It seemed natural to create a lightweight aluminium quick disconnector after the popularity of the stainless-steel Quick Disconnect (SQDC) version.” Comments Nick Broadley, Managing Director at Chell Instruments. “The SQDC version was designed after visiting a leading aircraft engine manufacturer and discovering that during testing process, when they wanted to dismantle an engine, all the piping (potentially 300 pipes or so) had to be cut off and replaced.” Designed for a range of applications, across industries, the Aluminium Quick Disconnects (AQDC) can be used in hash environments at working temperatures of up to 200°C.

Portable calibrator measures pressures up to 10,000 bar W
ith the CPH7000 portable process calibrator, high-pressure measuring instruments can now also be tested in the field: This multifunction instrument is the first hand-held from WIKA that records measured values of up to 10,000 bar. For such measuring tasks, the portable calibrator uses the WIKA CPT7000 high-pressure sensor as an external reference. Its rupture-proof, thin- film cell is not welded. It is inserted tightly into a tapered pressure channel and is thus also insensitive to dynamic pressure profiles. Through the combination with this sensor, the already broad range of applications for the CPH7000 is expanded even further. The calibrator is a portable multifunction instrument with an integrated electrical module, a hand pump to generate test pressures up to 25 bar and a high-performance data logger. In addition to the calibration of process transmitters and pressure gauges, the same instrument can fulfil test tasks for the measurands of temperature, voltage and current. The safety-related quality
of the CPH7000 is also accredited internationally through the CSA “Safety” approval.

New easy programmable TFT displays with touch
M
MS Electronics added two new displays to their extensive range of programmable displays. EA
uniTFT050 (5.0” 800x480 pixel) and EA uniTFT101 (10.1” IPS 1280x800 pixel) use the UNISKETCH software with drag and drop function and object graphics programming. Design engineers and systems integrators benefit from shorter development times and gain more flexibility. These TFT display modules, with on-board powerful controller, open up many new possibilities for developers and users. Objects can be placed, moved, rotated, combined and deleted at any time. All objects can be positioned, rotated and zoomed in as required. Attributes such as transparency and colour can be assigned. Objects can be linked to actions and I/O. Elegant effects such as fading in and out or flying in are possible. Commands for sliders, dials, buttons, images, MP3 sound files, data logging and calculations are included.
