SIGNATROL INVESTS IN

CALIBRATION WITH NEW OPTI-CAL KIT

D

ata logging specialists, Signatrol Limited has invested in the calibration service it offers customers with the

purchase of a Michell Instruments Opti-Cal. The new equipment will enable Signatrol to not only

calibrate its own data loggers and SpYdaq transmitters but customer instruments or data loggers too, at any humidity point from 10% to 90% at ambient temperatures from +15°C to +50°C. Signatrol was previously able to calibrate at 11%, 43%

and 75% but at ambient temperature. The new Opti-Cal system will now enable Signatrol to increase the the number of pieces calibrated at any one time to 20 pcs SL54TH / SL54TH-A, so reducing the time taken to calibrate a large batch and removing the need for setup charges.

in harsh and challenging environments. The carefully selected components are designed to run 24/7 in a wide range of temperatures and environments. Long term availability of up to 7 years ensures a stable platform for your application. Both 2U and 4U systems are available with a choice of 7th generation i-Core CPU and up to 8 HDD/SSDs.

Launched: vapour permeability measurement for gases used in Labs and Industry

V

ersaperm has launched a mass spectrometer version of its successful vapour permeability measurement system which works across every gas or

group of gasses used in modern labs and industries. This is important as vapour permeability issues effect many performance and safety critical aspects across the engineering industries. Petrol, diesel, refrigerants, gasses such as O2 and CO2, hydraulic fluids, lubricants and water vapour are widely used in industry, but all of them can permeate through most materials. This causes problems, contamination and catastrophic failure in electronics, computers, seals, valves membranes and mechanical systems. Being able to measure their vapour permeability accurately provides critical safety and

performance data to designers, engineering and manufacturing companies. The Versaperm equipment can, measure vapour permeability which controls a wide range of parameters from temperature (-80 to over +1000 C), pressure, environment and partial pressure / humidity.

New ABB laser level transmitter offers high accuracy for harsh environments

New laser level transmitter can measure the level of any material, solid or liquid, in any condition

ABB has expanded its level measurement portfolio with the addition of the LLT100 laser level transmitter. Specifically designed for industrial applications and harsh environments, the LLT100 enables precise measurement of any solid or liquid surface, including clear liquids from –40° to +60°C (–40

to +140°F), or up to 280°C (535°F) with a cooling tube.

With its IP67/NEMA 4X explosion proof class 1 / division 1 (zone 1) enclosure, it can be used in a range of applications, including mining, aggregates, oil and gas, chemicals, food and beverages, power, pulp and paper, pharmaceuticals and water and waste water.

Offering a resolution of 5 mm, an accuracy of ±20 mm and an eye-safe, Class 1 laser beam with a divergence of less than 0.35°, the LLT100 can be used in low visibility conditions. Its range spans from 0.5 to 30 m for liquids, 0.5 to 100 m for solids and 0.5 m to 200 m for positioning applications with a reflective

target. A rotating bracket and a swivel flange option allows precision aiming of the beam, while a laser pointer tool is used to provide a visual reference when aligning the LLT100.

With no maintenance or calibration needed, the LLT100 offers a low cost of ownership. Featuring ABB’s common four- button HMI, it offers fast and flexible installation and an easy setup function, with the use of a Through-the-Glass (TTG) user interface eliminating the need to remove the transmitter cover.

The LLT100’s standard enclosure material is powder-coated aluminium, with 316L stainless steel as an option.

For more information about the LLT100 or ABB’s laser transmitter offering, email enquiries.mp.uk@gb.abb.com or call 0870 600 6122 ref. ‘Laser level’.
