ADVERTORIAL TECHNOLOGY IN ACTION

General purpose accelerometer with internal temperature sensor

W

TECHNOMET - Advanced New Instrument Enclosures

M

odern and highly attractive aluminium instrument enclosures for desktop and portable electronic

instruments. TECHNOMET is available in eight standard sizes (ranging

from 75 x 225 x 200 mm to 150 x 350 x 275 mm) and in two standard colours light grey or anthracite. All sizes are available with or without a tilt and swivel carry handle bar. The stylish diecast front and rear bezels fit flush in the case body. Unique front and rear snap-on trims hide the front panel and case fixing screws, giving a modern screw- free look to the housings. PCBs can be fixed to M3 mounting pillars in the base, or clip-in anti-vibration guides in the chassis. Ventilation holes are provided in the base and rear panels. All panels are fitted with M4 earth studs for electrical continuity. Non-slip ABS feet are supplied fitted (with tilt legs on desktop versions). Anodised aluminium front panels are ordered separately. Prices start at £73. TECHNOMET can be supplied fully customised to customer requirements including special sizes.

ilcoxon’s data collector powered dual output 786T sensor measures both acceleration and temperature. This is useful for acquiring data with any one of

the many portable analyzers for collecting predictive data for vibration spectrum analysis. The temperature sensor is powered through the accelerometer powering circuit and provides the DC voltage output proportional to the temperature in degrees Celsius. Top exit, general purpose, dual output with temperature, 3 pin MIL-C-5015 connector, case isolated, 100 mV/g, ±5% sensitivity tolerance. Key features – rugged design, corrosion resistant, hermetically sealed, case

isolated, ESD-protected and reverse wiring protection. This accelerometer will help extend bearing life by simultaneously measuring

vibration and temperature, enabling plant managers to schedule preventative maintenance and planned downtime.

High-Precision Fluxgate Magnetometers B

artington Instruments offers a range of single and three axis fluxgate sensors, power supplies and data

acquisition units for low magnetic field measurements. The range includes sensors that can measure field

levels up to ±2mT and frequencies up to 12kHz, with noise levels down to 4pT. Cryogenic and vacuum compatible magnetometers are also available. The power supplies and data acquisition units are designed to optimise the performance of Bartington

magnetometers. These include analogue and digitising units, and power supplies handling up to 10 sensors. Applications include compass safe distance testing, ambient field monitoring for EMC compliance for fields up to

5kHz, remanent magnetisation measurements, and field uniformity checks during electro- and superconducting magnet manufacture. A range of Helmholtz Coil systems is also available. Typically these are used in laboratories to create stable and homogenous magnetic fields for magnetic instrument calibration and testing.

EUROLEC REVEALS NEW WARRANTY AND AMBITIOUS PLANS FOR 2018

F

ollowing on from a successful buyout by Scientific Measurements Pte Ltd in 2017, Eurolec

Instrumentation has enjoyed significant investment in equipment, infrastructure and marketing. More than £50,000 was ploughed into the

growth of the temperature and pressure instrumentation manufacturer at the end of last year, which has already produced dividends with an extended distributor network and increased international sales. Eurolec is now represented in more than 20

territories globally and its Republic of Ireland-based lab has been technologically enhanced increasing Eurolec's overall capacity for precision calibration certification and product service requirements.

Managing Director Chris Mears said: "2017 was a very exciting year for Eurolec but it looks like that is going to be

exceeded by further improvements and progress in 2018. "Thanks to the investment and support by Scientific Measurements we have been able to introduce Eurolec's first

five-year warranty which has boosted interest in our portable thermometers and probes, particularly within the highly competitive HACCP and food markets." He added: "We also have new product development well under way, together with further enhancement to our

existing product range across portable thermometers, manometers and temperature calibration sources. "Our established portable thermometer (TH & PC Temp series) and manometer (PR and PC mano series) portables

have already been restyled and have received something of a makeover in advance of new ranges to be announced in the near future. "Investment in new reference instrumentation in Eurolec's calibration laboratory has also resulted in an

improved temperature calibration service from the company with stated uncertainties of measurement now as low as ± 0.03°C." Eurolec is also the official UK & Ireland distributor for the Ono Sokki range of specialised engine tachometers, FFT

analysers, rotary encoders and linear gauges with further announcements due shortly on developments in this promising sector.

38 FEBRUARY 2018 | INSTRUMENTATION Inert Gas Blanketing

Do you use inert gas blanketing within your manufacturing process?

Inert gas blanketing is a process used to protect volatile, combustible or perishable products from undesirable reactions such as oxidation or explosion. The Rapidox 1100 and Rapidox 2100 zirconia oxygen gas analysers can measure oxygen content at the lowest level in parts per million, ensuring that the inert environment is as pure as possible.

There are many benefits in inert gas blanketing such as:

• risk of oxidisation Assists in chemical storage • Protects perishable products • Enhances safety • Reduces contamination • Maintains inert environment • Used in many applications

If you would like further information on Rapidox gas analysers or advice using gas analysis within your process,
