Thorworld’s rent-a-ramp solution keeps wheels in motion for Nagel Group’s improved warehouse development

Nagel-Langdon has become among the latest organisations to benefit from the support of a short- term rent-a-ramp solution, designed and delivered by loading bay specialist, Thorworld Industries.

C The loaned apparatus came into play at Nagel-Langdon’s temperature-controlled warehousing complex in

Liverpool; a facility currently under construction to replace existing buildings in Knowsley. On completion, the state-of-the-art development will operate 15 dock leveller bays and have the capacity to

handle over 5,000 pallets using a computerised system to ensure product delivery via computerised HGV’s. Planned for completion in the spring, building work has progressed well, however the temporary electrical

failure of an onsite scissor lift, used by the development’s construction vehicles, created the potential to delay project timescales.

past four years, Cimcorp had outgrown its existing facilities. To respond to this sales growth and the rising number of employees, Cimcorp acquired the plot of land adjacent to its HQ in 2017 and construction of the new production and office facilities began in summer 2018. The expansion secures 5,700m2 of additional factory space and another 2,200m2 of offices over three floors, including additional capacity for research and development. With this extension, production capacity increases by more than 100%.

Growth strategy

Cimcorp’s CEO, Masatoshi Wakabayashi, commented, “This investment marks an important step in the execution of our growth strategy. The building expansion will provide us with the much-needed space to continue expanding our product lines and solutions – which are in high demand – to better serve our customers with their intralogistics challenges. Sales are continuing to rise; in fact, we received our largest ever order in the intralogistics market – worth over 120 million euros – from the Spanish grocery giant, Mercadona, this spring.” In addition to the new building, Cimcorp is investing

in the renovation and refurbishment of its existing facilities. “Our expansion is much more than simply a new building”, explained Wakabayashi.“

Safely handling flammable material in the chemical supply chain

Industry Manager for Hyster Europe, discusses the 360- degree Hyster® solutions that support compliant and efficient handling. “It can only take one spark or hot surface to cause an ignition in the potentially explosive atmospheres found across the chemical supply chain,” says Mark. “Heat and spark control are therefore primary considerations for businesses involved in the production, storage and transport of flammable chemicals.”

W

Raw materials: The production and delivery of raw materials to a manufacturer is the first stage of the chemical supply chain. These potentially flammable raw materials are likely to be delivered, pumped and stored in large tanks. Drums and IBCs (intermediate bulk containers) may be found indoors or outdoors, in areas where Hyster® ICE diesel or electric forklifts will commonly be working, or passing through.
