ADVERTORIAL TECHNOLOGY IN ACTION

New analytical transmitter offers flexible solution with the future built in

and future-proof solution for industrial pH and conductivity measurement.

Tool-free mountable cable entry plates

The assortment of tool-free mountable cable entry plates from icotek is being expanded with the KEL-DP 6 and KEL-DP 16.

F

or the introduction of up to 50 standard cables, icotek offers a wide range of cable entry plates, which it says

are characterised by their high packing density and time-saving assembly compared to cable glands. The cable entry plates KEL-DP are suitable for the routing of non-assembled cables. The new cable entry plates KEL-DP 6 and KEL-DP 16 are

suitable for sheet thicknesses of 1.5 to 2.5mm. They are available in round, angular and particularly narrow and space-saving designs and fit standard breakouts. KEL-DP 6 is being placed on top of the outbreak of the 6-pin connector with dimensions 36 x 52mm; KEL-DP 16 is being placed on top of the outbreak of the 16-pin connector (36 x 86mm).

ABB has taken an innovative approach

to transmitter design with its new AWT210 single-channel two-wire transmitter for measurement and control of pH, redox (ORP) and conductivity in hazardous and non-hazardous industrial applications. The modular design reduces process downtime and overall operations expenditure while improving safety and boosting performance by optimizing plant control and availability.

The low power high-performance

transmitter is built around single sensor interchangeable modular plug-and-play technology. This means that a major benefit of the AWT210’s modular design is its ability to handle future sensor technologies such as ABB’s digital EZLink sensors. By simply upgrading the transmitter with the necessary module, operators can avoid the cost and time of purchasing and installing new transmitter units.

Operational simplicity is at the heart of the AWT210. Based on ABB’s common intuitive HMI, users can easily

navigate the device. Easy setup menus provide step-by-step guidance and routine calibration tasks can be initiated at a touch of a button.

The AWT210 pH and conductivity systems ensure optimal safe performance in the harshest of applications.

This combined with greater user flexibility and environmental compliance make them ideal for the oil and gas, pulp and paper, metals and mining and chemical and petrochemical industries.

Union Industries has supported a leading food service company with its energy efficiency policy, following the installation of one of its market-leading high-speed roller doors.

BAKO’s requirements, which was mounted on the Non-Frozen side in an airlock between the warehouse and the freezer, with one of Union’s E1000 dehumidifiers installed within the freezer above the airlock ceiling, to minimise the amount of ambient air making its way into the facility’s freezer area. The Eiger Door is the first automatic fast-acting, rapid roll freezer door to operate at

high speed, allowing areas to remain working effectively at temperatures of -20°c. Similar to other popular rapid action doors in Union Industries’ range, the Eiger Door also boasts the ‘Crash-Out & Auto-Reset’ feature, which allows the door to remain operable even after an impact to the bottom beam. BAKO North Western Group is a leading food service company, specialising in bakery

supplies, with National coverage. The North West is serviced from the company's headquarters in Preston, Lancashire. Since installing the door, there has been a significant reduction in snow and ice

build-up on the door blade and around the freezer at BAKO’s freezer opening, which has also supported the company’s energy efficiency policy by helping to cut down maintenance and energy costs. Kirti Hirani, Chief Financial Officer at BAKO, said “Our freezer door had outlived its

useful economic life causing a build up of ice around the door frame. Technological advances meant there were significantly more efficient freezer doors available in the market. BAKO is committed to reducing its energy consumption and improving energy efficiency and the Eiger Door ticked both of these boxes. The improved insulation, durability against damages and speed of opening and closing have all contributed to this installation delivering a good return on investment. The installation was completed in a timely and cost-effective manner by Union Industries with little impact on operations.” Union Industries has grown to become the UK’s leading manufacturer of bespoke

warehousing and industrial solutions, working with a range of companies that operate across multiple sectors to help improve their logistics and reduce heat loss in distribution centres, warehouses, factories and storage facilities. Neil Irwin, Technical Sales Engineer at Union Industries, said: “Our team of engineers

were able to provide BAKO with a swift and effective solution to its problem, with an Eiger Door engineered to its specific requirements that incorporates our market-leading

features. The automatic rapid roll feature and the specialised elements of the Eiger Door have been unparalleled by any other company, which is why we remain a top choice for companies in the food manufacturing sector. “We were delighted to support BAKO and its Preston facility. No job is too big or small for us, and we look forward to working with them again in the future.”
