FACILITIES MANAGEMENT FEATURE

normal production process. An inflatable cold store can quickly increase capacity and house a dedicated packing team with the productivity gains far outweighing the cost of the inflatable solution. Furthermore, with the ban on the use

of any refrigerant gas with a GWP above 2500 fast approaching in January 2020, it’s a good time for those using R404a (GWP 3922) to start considering either plant replacement or retrofitting now with inflatables sited within existing temporarily decommissioned cold store thus maintaining the chill chain without any disruption reducing productivity. Ultimately, a carefully located

inflatable sited internally or externally that’s accessible by fork-lifts, will more than recover the cost incurred through efficiency and productivity gains by slashing delivery waiting times, reducing double handling of product, creating more effective turnarounds or simply by creating much needed space. Speed and flexibility are key when everchanging market conditions exist and the inflatable is the most flexible product you will find on the market. With the potential gains from process

flow improvements it’s time for all producers and distributors to evaluate how much they could benefit from improved the efficiency and productivity an inflatable solution can bring.
