• • • RAIL INDUSTRY • • • Rail power systems from Enedo Power:

Modularity offers system flexibility by Andy Eden, Internal Sales Manager, LUSO Electronics

W

ith the rapid growth and need for reliable electricity in both partly or completely automated rail systems, Enedo’s power systems are designed to be highly modular and configurable to meet the demands of specialised applications.

Enedo work with end users to offer a standard or customised solution with your exact needs in mind. Luso Electronics as a member of RIA, the Rail Industry Association, are working with Enedo to promote their products to the UK Rail Industry.

Efficient and reliable battery management solutions for rail

& transportation Rail and transportation industry power supplies must comply with strict design requirements and specific design standards. Enedo satisfies these requirements, providing secure and reliable power supplies with outstanding operating lifetimes. We have long experience in developing both standard and custom design power supplies for railway, tram and metro applications.

Our solutions serve

applications such as: • High efficiency on board battery chargers and auxiliary power supplies

• Train communication and monitoring systems • Passenger information systems • On board power distribution • Railway signalling and communication systems • Suitable for a wide range of locomotives

Enedo’s power supply solutions are suitable for electric, diesel, diesel-electric, hybrid, gas turbine and fuel cell-electric locomotives.

The Enedo difference Superior system flexibility Rugged and versatile components are rail approved according to the highest standards. Obtain high system power by connecting several modules and systems in parallel, up to 12 kW.

Low footprint and total volume Forced cooling systems are used to achieve the lowest possible footprint and total volume. This light and compact construction saves you valuable space where it is needed most.

Optimal charging capabilities

Charging parameters are available for wide range of battery technologies. Three major charging modes include: battery charging in normal operation, battery boost and battery charging with temperature compensation.

Remote condition monitoring Condition monitoring for Power Modules is ensured by battery voltage measurement. Power Systems are monitored by block and system voltage measurement.

State of the art communications The systems communicate with the on-board control system via Ethernet (TRDP) and/or CAN-bus enabled for 3kW product

Customised advantage

In addition to our wide selection of standard power supplies, we also offer our customers full custom and modified standard power supplies to support unique system applications.

Our product specialists are ready to assist with product selection and guide you through the design cycle; offering both technical and commercial support when required and a local link to the factory.
