will find insights, stories and case studies which are directly applicable to your role. Unsurprisingly, Artificial Intelligence is high on this year’s agenda. Moving away from the existential angst and into a sober and evidence-based review of what generative AI tools might mean for L&D and for the wider world of work. Beyond the fluff, hype and anxiety I hope these sessions will help everyone to consider how this will impact how things get done, by whom and with what technological support. Unquestionably, AI will have an impact on jobs which previously have seemed immune from automation. Many of us in L&D have already been

affected by the deployment of AI and this will continue. Sensible and informed use of generative AI to complement the skills L&D teams already have presents a great opportunity. But only if done right! We have seen other technological changes promise much and deliver little. The conversations at World of Learning present us with a chance to step back, learn from others and plan to take charge of the changes which are coming. In other areas, we have seen a significant focus on developing new skills – in and beyond the world of L&D. We need to understand the skills we and our people need now and in the future. Above all – we need to ensure that the interventions L&D teams initiate have measurable impact on organisation performance. This will require mastery of change management and using all the tools at our disposal – not just relying on ‘courses’. There’s a great line up of speakers and contributors talking about working with people where they are and not where we would hope them to be. In the closing keynote session on day one, I’m dead chuffed that a stellar array of experienced L&D leaders are not simply telling Conference attendees what to do but engaging in meaningful discussions through round table meetings. Artificial Intelligence is high on this year’s agenda and change, technological disruption and managing complexity are themes across the Conference
