ES PRECISION INVESTS IN FEMTOSECOND TECH

SIEMENS & PRIMA POWER IN AUTOMOTIVE ALLIANCE

THE LASER USER

TRUMPF IN AGREEMENT WITH US AI COMPANY

TRUMPF and US software company SiMa .ai have signed a partnership to develop lasers with artificial intelligence (AI). The goal is to equip several TRUMPF laser systems with AI technology in the near future. This includes systems for welding, cutting and marking, as well as powder metal 3D printers.

ES Precision completed its seventh year in business and has again reinvested profits in more laser technology, increasing its laser plant list to 9 industrial workstations. These comprise the new fs system, two fibre lasers, two vanadate, a frequency-tripled YAG and three CO2

(galvo, flatbed and reel-to-reel). Such a wide range of technologies means that virtually all materials can be marked, engraved, drilled and, in the case of sub- millimetre thicknesses, cut.

OXFORD LASERS R&D IN QUANTUM TECHNOLOGY

Oxford Lasers has been awarded a UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) collaborative Research and Development grant for the LINQED project (Linked Ion Traps for Networked Quantum Entanglement Distribution). In partnership with ColdQuanta UK Ltd and Oxford University, Oxford Lasers’ role will be to develop high- precision laser micromachining processes in the creation of miniaturised ion traps – a key component in quantum networking.

Cyklop International is pleased to announce the acquisition of The Needham Group, including Needham Laser Technologies, based in UK and Ireland. This strategic acquisition strengthens the company’s position in this product sector across Europe, Africa and part of the Middle East.
