DALTONS WADKIN APPOINTS NEW SPECIALIST
Daltons Wadkin, a UK multi-material machine solution supplier, has expanded its team by hiring a specialist to lead the company’s fibre laser and sheet metal offering. Adrian Wright has joined the company, bringing over three decades of experience in the fibre laser and sheet metal markets.
Spectrum Technologies, laser wire processing technology and solutions business, is delighted to announce record-breaking financial results for the fiscal year 2023-2024, with sales of £10.2M and profits of £1.4M. The surge in sales is attributed to the robust demand for Spectrum’s laser wire processing systems, with significant traction in the aerospace sector.

PRIMA INDUSTRIE MAKES ACQUISITION
POWERPHOTONIC PART OF ‘SONI-SHAPE-LASER’
PowerPhotonic is taking part in a collaborative research project with industrial and academic partners to develop a new type of laser welding process to help optimise EV (Electric Vehicle) battery casings. Known as the ‘Soni-Shape-Laser’ project, it is funded as part of an Innovate UK research grant worth £640k. The project is led by Carrs Welding, with partners PowerPhotonic, WMG, and IONETIC.

CIVAN LASER TO BE USED FOR AM AT US UNIVERSITY
Civan Lasers is poviding the first Dynamic Beam Laser for LPBF research to the US University of Wisconsin-Madison. University researchers plan to integrate the DBL into a custom-built system featuring advanced sensors and closed-loop control. This setup will optimise process parameters in real-time, aiming to overcome defects and push the boundaries of what is possible in LPBF.
