Museum revved up for milestone motorsport year
Silverstone Museum is geared up to get 2025 off to a roaring start with a milestone motorsport year of exhilarating exhibitions and events planned to celebrate a commemorative year for Formula One. T e museum, located trackside at the iconic Silverstone
circuit, has a host of new exciting exclusive exhibits, events and activities lined up for what will be a momentous motorsport year, a year which will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the FIA Drivers World Championship. Silverstone held the very first race of the prestigious championship on May 13, 1950. Silverstone Museum continues to drive up visitor
numbers, boosting business and tourism in the county as the award-winning attraction welcomes not only die- hard motorsport and F1 fans but families alike from far and wide. In a standout successful year, 2024 saw a record number of more than 160,000 visitors through the doors of the phenomenally popular museum.
Silverstone Museum CEO Phil Lawrie said: “We are
thrilled to announce that the museum will be showcasing an exciting feature exhibition in 2025, unveiling new exclusive exhibits and hosting unmissable events, as we celebrate Silverstone becoming the birthplace of the Formula 1 world championship. “Our show-stopping exhibition this year will
celebrate 75 years since the start of the F1 Driver World Championship with a line-up of incredible, iconic racing cars and memorabilia yet to be revealed.” T e museum has also introduced its new Behind the
Scenes Tours, which run weekdays and showcase in much more detail the exhibition in a bespoke, exclusive experience. Stephanie Sykes-Dugmore, Head of Collections and
Research at Silverstone Museum, said: “Visitors booking our new exclusive Behind the Scenes Tours will now be able to get much more up close to the iconic cars, bikes and memorabilia like never before. “It allows the opportunity to delve into the fascinating
stories of racing legends and explore areas that are typically off -limits to the public. With expert guides, visitors can touch the heart of motorsport innovation and heritage in a unique immersive experience perfect for fans and enthusiasts alike.”
