Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards 2022
“Everyone in this room has someone who helped them on their way.
For me that was a teacher, James Dyer. I didn’t do well at school and left without much idea of what I was going to do, but he always encouraged me. “I’ve often wondered over the years what he’d make of how I’d turned
turn out, and now receiving this award. I always try to be humble, but I have to say this feels good.” During the early stages of the evening, Ben T omas, from organisers All
T ings Business, asked the audience to consider the plight of 10-year-old Jesse Mansfi eld, who has leukaemia and whose family are trying to raise £250,000 to pay for potentially life-saving medical treatment. By the end of the evening, there had been pledges of £25,000 from some of the sponsors. Closing the awards ceremony, Ben said: “T at’s what I love about this
county. We’ve come here tonight for a fantastic event, celebrating the best of Northamptonshire, but at the same time, we’ve had so many generous pledges of help for a boy very much in need. “T is could well make all the diff erence to Jesse and his parents, and I’m
sure more donations will come in over the next few days, and I feel proud to be able to tell the family what this business community has off ered to do to help.”
