The Army and the Ascending Arc of Justice

In November 2023, to honor Veterans Day, Dean Roger Fairfax hosted a fireside chat featuring the Honorable Willie J. Epps Jr., an Air Force veteran and a respected US magistrate judge.
In April, the Tech Law and Security program hosted a special fireside chat titled “The Army and the Ascending Arc of Justice” with Professor Geoffrey S. Corn, chair of Criminal Law and director of the Center for Military Law and Policy at Texas Tech School of Law, and Brig. Gen. Ronald Sullivan, chief judge of the US Army Court of Appeals. They discussed the Army’s recent decision to overturn the convictions of 110 Black soldiers tried during the 1917 Camp Logan military trials. This event was co-hosted with other campus programs and organizations.
