One of the moments that stands out in Reinier’s mind as truly awesome was his performance at Awakenings 2017, where he played to a packed tent.

“The energy was incredible, and I knew

then that this was the real deal. I’ve always had a strong work ethic, and I believe that’s what’s gotten me to where I am today. You have to put in the time and effort if you want to succeed. It’s not always easy, but the end result is worth it.”

When asked about the role that others have played in his success, Reinier emphasizes the real importance is hard work.

“Of course, having someone like Olivier

Koletski believe in me was a huge help, but at the end of the day, it’s all about putting in the work. If you want to get to the next level, you have to be willing to push yourself and work harder than anyone else. It’s not just about talent, it’s about dedication and persistence. If you keep working at it, you’ll eventually find the right people who will help you along the way.”

Reinier’s advice to aspiring musicians is simple but powerful:

“Just work hard. It doesn’t matter how much talent you have, if you’re not willing to put in the time and effort, you won’t get very far. You have to be willing to push yourself, even when it’s tough. If you stay focused and keep working at it, you’ll eventually reach your goals. It’s not always easy, but it’s definitely worth it.”

TOUR LIFE

At this point in the conversation, we were eager to know if Reinier had any highlights from his busy summer schedule that he would like to share with us. We asked if there were any specific events, new or familiar venues, beautiful places or certain countries he was looking forward to.

“Absolutely, there are definitely

highlights. And it may sound strange, but I’ve reached a point in my career where every show is just freaking awesome. I work with the biggest organizations in every country and those shows are so incredibly built. And the cool thing is that the people who come to these shows have bought their tickets a year in advance. So there’s a completely different vibe than if you just spin at the club on the corner at the last minute. So these people are already hyped, and that’s a whole different energy. That makes it so much more enjoyable than before.”

Reinier went on to say that the next event he was looking forward to was Timewarp Mannheim. He was supposed to perform at the festival at the end of 2020, but unfortunately it was all canceled due to the pandemic. He explained that although he had performed at other places in Germany for Timewarp, this was a special moment because it was the one and only Timewarp Mannheim. He listed a legendary lineup with no one less than; Amelie Lens, Nina Kravitz, Charlotte de Witte, and Joseph Capriati, where he could join.

He also mentioned Awakenings, which was still a magical festival for him. He told us that he’d been going there since his teenage years. Reinier remembers how he used to dream of playing at Awakenings as a young boy. And now, years later, every time he steps onto the festival grounds, he still
