It’s heartwarming to see Reinier beaming with pride and admiration for his heroes. He explains how fantastic it feels for him to be able to work with these people years later.
“It’s something very special and just magical.”
We’re curious to know when Reinier realized that he had surpassed the “small circuit” and entered “the big leagues”. He tells us about a few milestones that still stand out to him in 2016 and takes us through some important moments in his career. For example, the moment when he had to choose between a “regular
job” and
pursuing his music career full-time. “My parents and my best friend
suggested that I try it out for a year. If it didn’t work, I could still decide to go for a regular job. But a month later, everything took off, and I could already make a living from it.”
Another memory he shares is one in which Olivier Koletski played a crucial role.
“At first, I had only broken through in
Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Then, I released a track on Olivier’s label, “Stil vor Talent” and he asked me where I saw my career going. I told him that I wanted to tour full-time. He then put me on after him at all his shows in Germany, so I was suddenly playing for 1,500 people. It was a massive success, and I gained so many new fans. Things took off from there, and it was a wild ride.”
Reinier’s passion for music has been the driving force behind his success. From a young age, he worked tirelessly on his craft, and never missed an opportunity to showcase his talent to the world. In fact, he even transformed his old bedroom into a soundproof studio, where he would spend hours working on his music every single day.
