LABEL A Deep Look into Blackworks Label: Visions,
Challenges, and Triumphs. In this interview, we delve into the musical universe of Blackworks Label, a record label where innovation and passion intersect, unveiling the experiences, aspirations, and journey of the label
from its humble beginnings to its
current role in the electronic music scene. Dexphase and other key members share intimate details about the evolution of the label, its artists, and its music.
Could you share with us the origins of the label, the initial challenges, and how they have evolved to date?
“First of all, we want to thank you for this space and interest and give voice to our movement.
Blackworks Label was created by Dexphase in
July 2020. The first edition was a various artists compilation featuring emerging artists titled “Biological Warfare”. Our challenge as a label has always been, and will be, to release quality music, supporting emerging artists and those more established in the scene. Many of the additions to our label end up debuting at our parties. This allows these emerging artists to be known beforehand for their productions, offering a great opportunity for our audience to take an interest in them.”
This year has been very productive for you. How do you decide which projects to launch, and which release has impacted you the most in 2023?
“We have had notable evolution in recent years with major releases, currently having 21 releases in our catalog. We have increased the number of releases to one very 3-4 weeks and have planned up until mid-2024.”
The release that has impacted us the most, both in sales and listens across all platforms, was from the masked German called CARV. CARV is an emerging artist who has been rising strongly this past year; we will undoubtedly bet on him, we are very happy to have him in our family.”
Given the changing music landscape, what is the new vision
of the label, and how are working to maintain your you relevance in the world of current electronic music?
“It is very hard to find music that truly stands out. We have our label manager, Skryption, doing great work,
receiving more than 100 demos per week.
Finding a unique production where you can immediately recognize the artist’s essence is not easy these days. We believe that today the goal is to find banger tracks that work on the dance floor, there are many of those, but an artist who can really create a banger track with his own essence will succeed in joining our label.”
Could you reveal details about upcoming EPs and singles, and what can we expect in terms of sound and collaborations?
“We are very happy to announce that in November we will have our
first vinyl EP, featuring a hard techno reference, the artist AND.
Also, as we mentioned before, we have planned up to mid-2024 with EPs from emerging artists with impressive potential... We can reveal some names for you to follow

very closely: Niereich, Minor Dott, Botl, or Jhonny Piras.” I understand there is a VVAA vinyl release on the horizon. Could you talk more about the involved artists, the release date, and the inspiration behind this project?
“Yes, it will be a double vinyl with 11 artists, both emerging and well-known in the current hard techno scene. It is very special for us as it will be our first VVAA on vinyl. We don’t have a specific date as we are waiting for the final result of the record, but we can spoiler some of the involved artists: 999999999 x Rian Wood, Dexphase, Skryption & CARV.”
Dexphase and Skryption are two highlighted artists of your label. What is your vision for these artists and how do you plan to support their musical growth and development?
“Dexphase (Owner) & Skryption (Label Manager), are two fundamental pillars, they are not only in charge of everything related to the label, but most of their releases are within it, where we have made very important editions in terms of sales and listens, being in the TOP 100 Beatport for months. We are eager to show you the tracks prepared for the VA on vinyl by these artists and surely, in 2024 an EP from each one will be launched.”
Could you describe how the influences and unique style of Dexphase and Skryption fit into the label’s identity
and how these
artists are pushing the boundaries of the genre?
“Dexphase has an industrial, dark, and powerful sound. We can reveal that the track produced especially for the vinyl VVAA mentioned is a real bomb called “Front Row Raver”.
Skryption has a more melodic and energetic sound, and we are very eager to present his track that will be included in the vinyl VVAA called “6 Milles”, full of energy
and emotions.
Both artists have their own distinct sound, and they are very focused on exploiting it to the fullest and continue surpassing themselves, progressing in, and demonstrating that there are no limits in this musical genre.”
In a saturated market, promotion strategies are crucial. What unique
tactics is the label
implementing to ensure the success of its releases and artists?
“We believe promotion is the most important thing for music to transcend. We work with the best premiere channels, like “Techno Germany” or “Techno Wereld”, to name a few. They have great SoundCloud channels and social networks that help us reach more people.
Each release is also promoted via our strong social media, where people interact, reaching them directly.”
