GET TO KNOW

Eve’s journey into the world of music began with a desire for diversity and change. At the age of 18, she ventured into parties across Amsterdam and Groningen, eager to explore different genres and experiences. It was during these outings that she noticed a stark contrast in her hometown of Leeuwarden—a city where every club seemed to echo the same narrow musical choices.

Disenchanted with the local scene’s lack of variety, Eve took matters into her own hands. She founded “Tuinfeest,” an event aimed at injecting fresh sounds into Leeuwarden’s nightlife. With few DJs in Leeuwarden and its surrounding villages, Eve saw an opportunity to carve out a niche, shaping the event’s musical direction her- self. Inspired by artists like Chris Stussy, OGUZ, Prunk, Cynthia Spiering, and De Sluwe Vos, whom she booked for Tuinfeest, she began to cultivate her own unique sound.

Her first gig, held at Tuinfeest after months of ri- gorous preparation, marked a pivotal moment in her career. Playing for a crowd of 500 people, Eve felt a mix of nerves and excitement, buoyed by the warm reception and energetic response from the audience. Starting her set as the opener, she successfully set the stage for the headliner, ex- periencing an exhilarating rush of adrenaline and confidence.

Reflecting on her upbringing in Leeuwarden, Eve acknowledges how her hometown provided fertile ground for her musical aspirations.

Organizing Tuinfeest not only filled a void in the local scene but also established it as Leeuwar- den’s largest electronic music festival over the course of five years.

Eve’s journey exemplifies initiative, creativity, and a steadfast commitment to her vision. From cha- llenging the status quo of local nightlife to craf- ting her own distinct musical identity, she conti- nues to shape her path in the world of electronic music with passion and purpose.

THE JOURNEY OF FINDING HER SOUND

Eve’s quest to discover her unique sound was a process that evolved over time. Initially, she ex- plored a wide range of genres at various parties, from disco to techno and everything in between.

“I took some time to really find my sound, when I went to all the different kinds of parties I also discovered that I like a lot of different genres. So at first I didn’t want to focus on specific gen- res and played from disco to techno and almost everything in between.

Last year I really had a switch and was ready to focus on a specific sound. I noticed that when I was playing those genres, it gave me the most energy and enjoyment. I’m still blending genres to- gether, because I can’t stay with one, but these just match so well and can make such an energe- tic set.”

Developing her signature groovy and thumping sound wasn’t without its challenges. Eve often felt lost, playing many different genres and struggling to define her artistic identity. Despite always delivering energetic and groovy sets, the diversity sometimes left her uncertain about her place as an artist.

“I always played energetic and groovy sets but sometimes they were so different. taught me a lot”.

unique styles have significantly shaped her music. Additionally, she admires Fleur Shore’s career progression, which motivates her continue pushing forward in her own career.

LOOKING AHEAD Looking ahead, some goals Eve has for her DJ career in the next few years are super exciting!

I have a strong desire to launch my own radio show, where I can share my discoveries and provide a platform for emerging talent, much like what I’m doing with my current events. Additiona- lly, I’m planning to relocate to Amsterdam soon to kickstart a new chapter in my DJ career. Ultima- tely, I aspire to perform at renowned parties like Defected, aiming to showcase my sound on larger stages and to wider audiences.

In terms of festivals and clubs, she looks forward to great experiences in some of the most iconic venues and in Europe.

“In the Netherlands, I have my sights set on playing at Lofi, particularly its magical courtyard. Events like No Art or Palet would be a perfect fit for my style. Internationally, after hearing about the incredible experiences at Glastonbury, it’s beco- me a dream of mine to perform there someday. The festival’s unique atmosphere and profound impact on attendees inspire me, and I long to create that kind of magic through my music.”

My approach to staying relevant involves staying true to myself and my musical instincts. I won’t chase trends or follow hypes; instead, I’ll always prioritize playing music that resonates deeply with me and moves my audience. This authenticity
