If you’re stuck for something to do come Monday and fan­ cy something different, why not enjoy a bit of multi-cul- turalism at Whalley Library? It is hosting two workshops by monks from the TashiLhunpo Monastery in Tibet. At 10 am and 2 pm, theywill be demonstrating the pains­ taking, traditional TibetanBhuddist art of making sand mandalas. Sand mandalas are unique to Tibetan Bud­ dhism andinvolve creating pictures, one grain of sand at a time, which are then swept up and dispersed into flow­ ing water as part of purification and healing rituals.
