A 20-year-old from Clitheroe is the UK’sfirst year appren tice of theyear.
Benjamin Farnsworth, who is a manufacturing engineer ing apprentice at BAE Train ing Centre, Preston, has been employed by Techni-Grind (Preston) Machining Ltd since September 20i3. He won the

passionate engineer who has a clear vision for his career progression. He has already utilised his skills to develop a machining strategy, which has delivered cost savings. He is a real asset to his company and has a bright future ahead.”

lady, Mary embarked on a round the world trip at the age of 73, concluding with a visit to her family in Austral ia. During the trip, she tried her hand at white water raft ing and also took a helicop ter ride. A f t e r moving from
Coulthurst in 1992, Mary spent-many happy years as a resident at the Alms Hous es in Waddington. She is survived by her daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren. :
