Assembly from representa tives of the charity, the Junior Children set about planning a project to raise money. The most popular idea
was to make, bring in and sell items in a Christmas Market at the village school. In less than aweek, the chil dren managed to make many
Christmas items, including decorations, gifts, food and drink. Also for sale were toys and books brought from home - as well as bird feeders and gi ant African Snails! The market, set in each of.
the five Key Stage Two classes, was a huge success. Almost all items were sold
and the children, staff and parents who attended were full of compliments for the children. Deputy Headteacher Mr Andrew Kellington com
mented: “We are immensely proud of our children. From the initial idea, to the planning and holding of the Market, the children showed tremendous business and creativity skills, aswell as empathy for chil dren who are less fortunate at Christmastime.” Following the market, two
■ pupils from school visited Rock FM in Preston to hand over their cheque for £559 to DJ Jordan North and the Cash for Kids team at Mission Christmas.
