Ribble Valley Borough Coun­ cil has published its 2015 visitor guide, Discover Ribble Valley.


The new-look guide was rede­ signed in a coffee table mag­ azine style two years’ ago, following consultation with customers and advertisers. It has been a great success, doubling in size from previ­ ous editions and attracting significant interest. This year’s guide features


sections on food, shopping, heritage, outdoor activi­ ties, particularly cycling and walking; weddings, the arts, a What’s On and comprehen­ sive accommodation listings. It also features recipes


from local chefs Gareth Bev- an, of Food by Breda Murphy, and Ryan Greene of Foxfields Country Hotel, Billington. The council’s tourism and


events officer, Tom Pridmore, said: “2015 is an exciting year for tourism in Ribble Val­ ley, which is hosting Stage 2 of this year’s Tour of Brit­ ain and, as well as being a premier food destination, is now an emerging wedding destination. Discover Ribble Valley focuses on businesses with a real story to tell offer­ ing authentic visitor experi­ ences around the themes of food, outdoor pursuits and weddings. “The guide has been very


well received since undergo­ ing a revamp and demand for it is increasing year-on-year.” Latest figures have re­


vealed that day-trippers and weekenders are flocking to Ribble Valley in their droves. Discover Ribble Valley has

The “Class of 66” from Ribblesdale High School ClitKeroe are holding another reunion. All those who started school in the Autumn of 1966, (the year England won the world cup) are invited to meet up.
