| | Sex arrest plans welcomed

?. . r .-i j.

Ribble Valley MP Nigel Evans has welcomed a report which proposed a ban on the identi fication of people arrested on suspicion ofsexual offences in England and Wales. Mr Evans said: “I strong

ly welcome the release of the report from Keith Vaz’s Home Affairs Select Commit tee proposing an equality of

treatment until charges are brought forward. This propos al will only provide anonym ity until charges are brought, therefore still allowing others to come forward once charges are brought, but will prevent people being hung out to dry. “I do not believe it is right

for people to be plastered all over every national newspa

per in order to fish out other people.” Commenting on anoth

er aspect of the report, Mr Evans added: “I also welcome the report’s proposal that bail should be initially limited to 28 days and will give investi gations much more focus and will bring certainty to both parties much sooner.”

A brisk walk breathing in countryside air with plenty of pub stops for some liquid re freshment...it’swhatsummer days are made for! Be among the first to se

cure your place on a brand- new sponsored pub walk this year to boost funds for the East Lancashire Hospice. Open to both men and

Cloudy2Clear Windows - Service With A Smile!

It's been a crazy few months for Cloudy2C!car Windows. The company which specialises in repairing - windows which arc steamed up, broken or damaged by replacing the p an e s -n o t the frames has grown rapidly os homeowners take advantage of their services. Branch Manager Paul

Aspin feels that it’s all about service. ‘Our. product is simple. If your double glazing is misted up we can replace the glass at a fraction of the cost o f a new window, in any type of frame, and with a new 5 year guarantee. But it’s not just about saving

people money, although that obviously helps. Many tradespeople have

;. smuggled since last year and I honestly feci that during the good times a minority perhaps didn’t focus on customer care as much as they should have done. We make sure we turn up when we say wc will, do the job the customer requires and leave their house as clean as a whistle. I often get comments back from customers on how they really didn’ t expect that

' sort o f service which, in a way, is very sad for the service industry as a whole.’ Cloudy2Clcar service

the Burnley, Padiham, Nelson & Colne areas

and Paul is finding that his approach is a major factor in his, success.

• ‘The truth is that it’s ,7 ' ; not just the personal satisfaction that I get from doing a good job but also it makes good business sense. I get a huge amount o f business from friends and family

o f people I’ve done

4 work for, which just, goes to show how much a little bit o f effort is- appreciated.’ So, i f your windows are
