Staff at the Clitheroe Residential Home with some of the cakes sold to support Marie Curie. .

Dieting was off the menu at the Clitheroe Residential Home as staff and residents raised money for charity. There were cakes galore, courtesy of staff and families, as the home again supported Marie Curie with a bloom ing great tea-party. Fundraising was aided by a competi tion to guess the weight of the cake and a quiz about words with tea at the beginning.

Manager Mrs Bibby said: “The good-as- new stall held lots of bargains, but, sadly attendance was poor. It seemed such a shame when people had gone to so much effort and Marie Curie is such a worthy cause. However, despite the poor attendance we still raised more than £60.”
