A Ladies Christinas Lunch for the Ribble Valley Macmillan Cancer Support group totted up a whopping £11,500. - y. ■ The Ribble Valley Macmil- lan Cancer Support “100 Club”
; held their Christmas Lunch at Mytton Fold Hotel, Langho, with 133 members and guests attending!
. Before lunch the ladies
had fun shopping at Christ mas stalls full of jewellery, candles, handbags and other festive goodies. While they shopped the Clitheroe branch of the Salvation Army Singers entertained everyone with carols and festive music.
After lunch, the guest
speaker was Gayle Newsham, a leading member of Dick Kerrs world famous Ladies football team from Preston. Gayle gave the ladies a fasci nating talk about the the world of ladies football. At thelunch the committee
received numerous donations and the proceeds offund-rais- ing events totalling £8,300, with proceeds from the lunch itselfaddingafurther£2,ioo. Among the monies re
ceived were donations from an ice bucket challenge, a col lection at Dawson’s (£370) and a cheque for £3,100' from Rib-
blesdale Rotary Club, whose President Richard Schofield had organised a sponsored
. marathon.walk from Middle- ton-in-Teesdale to Slaidburn, whichRotarianDerekWight- man and other members com pleted.
