Police investigate supermarket thefts


An increasing number of shoplifting incidents are be­

Stab in neck charge goes to crown court


A 45-year-old man has ap- pearedbeforeBlackburn magistrates charged with as­ saulting a man in Great Har­ wood by stabbing him in the neck with a biro tube. John Clayton, of Nether- wood Gardens, Brockhall Village, Old Langho, was sent on bail to appear next at Burnley Crown Court. He is charged with assaulting Karl Wilding, causing him actual bodily harm, and assaulting Philip Blackmoore. He will appear before the crown court on March 9th.
