There was an air of anticipation at the weekend as Clitheroe welcomed a very special visitor on Saturday in the form of Father Christmas.
And children with their families queued patiently to catch a glimpse of the'
man himself at his Santa’s Grotto in Market Place. The grotto was just one attraction at the Clitheroe Christmas Festival which was staged in the town on Saturday.

Police in the Ribbie Valley have launched their annual cam paign to keep people safe dur ing the festive season.
The elderly or vulnerable can be particularly susceptible to crime during the festive pe riod with criminals literally “cashing in” on people’s good nature.

ing team has launched a campaign aimed at ensuring festive high street and online shoppersstay safe over Christ mas and the New Year with a range of top crime prevention and safety tips. Their campaign offers a
range of advice designed to deliver criminals an unhap py .Christmas by providing .
the public with information which helps them shop safe and stay secure at home and online.
“Christmas is'a time we all look forward to and want
to eq joy, but some see it as an opportunity to pray on peo
ple’s good nature and those in our community who are more vulnerable,” said Clitheroe PC MarkParrington “These simple steps can
help us all to ensure that we keep ourselves and our prop erty safe. Ribbie Valley police will be maintaining a presence in our town centres at this busy time and will by actively targeting our known offend ers in an effort to ensure we all have a happy Christmas.” Here are the festive safety
