More than 100 children from five local primary schools at- tendedasciencefairat Hurst Green'sStonyhurstCollege.
Pupils from St Michael and St John RC Primary School,
Clitheroe, St Joseph’s at Hurst Green, St Leonard’s at Bal- derstone, Thorneyholme at Dunsop Bridge and St Mary’s at Osbaldeston, watched in amazement at the Big Bang Rocket Launch as mini-rock ets shot hundreds of feet in the air in a plume of white smoke, before releasing tiny parachutes which floated to the ground.
They were then able to
make and launch their own mini-rockets, helped by some of Stonyhurst’s sixth-form students. The theme of space travel continued as the chil dren tasted astronaut food, made “Muddled Chocolate Meteorites” and toured Stony hurst’s historic observatory. After science it was time for the arts, as the children
