THE aisles of Christ Church Chatburn will be ringing to music from its splendid new organ on Friday February 8th, and in the hands of a true expert. ; Nigel Ogden, long-time prwenter
of BBC Radio 2's "The Organist Entertains", will play a specially prepared selection of popular and light classical music at the church. His favourite styles of music and personable manner will already hie well-known to the thousands of listeners to his perpetually popular radio programmes. Nigel started playing the organ at
the age of 12 and it was the family trips to see Reginald Dixon at the Wurlitzer in the Blackpool Tower Ballroom that really got him hooked on the beauty of the instrument. At the time of having his own electronic organ business in Sale, Cheshire, he also began presenting The Organist Entertains - a programme on which he had featured rriany times as a player since 1972. He has since ‘ ■ continued to present the weekly BBC radio programme. The Chatbum concert also includes
a performance by The Haslingden Choir, a mixed voice ensemble who will perform a wide range of
material. There have been many requests for this popular choir to return to the church after their successful performances in the past. The concert promises a rich and
varied programme of music and, as with previous music events at Christ Church Chatburn, it will be presented to professional standards. This one-off concert by a star of the BBC already proving popular, with a high demand for tickets. The organisers advise obtaining yours
