lively pace with good variety so that pupils are kept interested and on their toes.

they are unfailingly polite and courteous to each other, adults and visitors, Good leadership and management provide the
school with a sharp focus on improvement and a clear vision for future development. There is a strong sense of teamwork with the governing body providing challenge and support. Inspectors noted that since
its previous report the overall effectiveness of the school had improved from “satisfactory” to “good” which demonstrated the school’s su-ong capacity for fur ther improvement.

designing and making their own 3D planet from paper mache, re searching and delivering a Power Point presentation on one of the planets in our solar system to the rest of the class and writing their own science fiction stories. Pupils thoroughly enjoyed a trip
to Spaceport in Liverpool as wel. There they learnt more about the galaxy, what stars are made of and what life is like as an astronaut. “I liked learning all about the

Tomorrow (Friday), The Ufe Education Van ar rives at school and will remain there on Mon day and Tuesday of next week.
Ufe Education is a charity providing a unique health educah'on programme which includes drug prevention work. It teaches children about the wonder of their bodies, how to take care of them and how drugs (including medicines), can affect them. The specially, equipped classroom provides an untorgetta- ble experience for the children, which assists our school in our health education work.

The Friends of Pendle School held a quiz night on Friday (March 9th) at Clitheroe FC. The or ganisation's AGM will take place in school on ' Tuesday, March 20th at 7 p.m.
Year Five pupils took part in an Olympic Multi- - Skills Festival at Hyndbum Sports Centre on ■ Thursday....................................
Schools from Hyndbum and the Ribble Valley took part in the event which was organised by Ribblesdale High School as part of the East .
Lancashire School Sports Partnership.
Each school “represented’ a country and Pen- die’s chosen country was New Zealand; the children dressed in red, white and blue or all black. The children had also made flags.
Pupils were able to take part in Paralympic and Olympic activib'es including boocia, volleyball and curling.
It is STEM Week (Science, Technology, Engineer ing and Maths) at Pendle.
Throughout the week there have been a lot of exciting activities including a “Squashed To mato” workshop; visit from the Fossil Man;
