STALLS are up for grabs at Clitheroe Market on Fridays for a fiver. Ribble Valley residents are in

vited to take part in the cut-price collectors’ markets in a bid to boost trade at the historic site. The stalls are available to resi

dents from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for £5, with stalls also available at the gen eral market on Thursdays at the half-price cost of £6.35 for a small stall and £7.90 for a large one. Coun. Stuart Hirst, chairman of

Ribble Valley Borough Council’s health and housing committee, said: “We are offering the cut- price stalls to showcase the market and give local residents the chance to raise extra cash. “We hope residents will take

advantage of this fantastic oppor tunity by taking a stall or attending the markets.” Thirty-one stalls are available on a pre-booked basis. Residents are

asked not to turn up without book ing and will be asked on the day for proof of their Ribble Valley

address, such as a driving licence or utility bill. Clitheroe has hosted a regular
