Denise’s family get on their bikes for hospice charity

THE family of an East Lancashire mother are getting on their bikes to raise money for the hospice that nursed her through

the final few weeks in her fight against bowel cancer. Leigh Thistlethwaite and Mark Smith

are the son and son-in-law of brave Den ise Taylor, who died of the disease on Sep tember 18th, 2009. To mark the one year anniversary.

Leigh and Mark plan to complete a chal lenging cycle ride from John O’Groats to

Lands End, a journey of approximately 1,000 miles. “We are raising money for East Lanca

shire Hospice Charity as it’s a wonderful caring place, providing the most amazing care imaginable,” said Leigh. For more information, please call

of a larger area of land recently identi fied in Ribble Valley Borough Council’s Strategic Housing Land Availability As sessment (SHLAA) and Core Strategy consultation as potentially suitable for delivering the new homes needed across the borough.

The total area identified by the council’s

consulting fully with the local community before submitting any planning applica tion so as to ensure people can have a say. That is why we are holding a public consultation and we hope everyone who is interested in our plans will be able to come along. “I look forward to meeting residents

on the 16th. In the meantime, if people would like more details then please call our information line on 0161 2478417.”
