■ LITTLE ones at the Ark Toddler Group put on their handmade crowns to follow the star that would lead them to baby Jesus. At their Christmas party, they were invited to join the search by an unusual king, in the form of a puppet. All the children looked for small, shiny stars to help them on their journey. Eventually they found that the star had stopped over a stable and they went to visit baby Jesus in his hay-filled manger. The Ark is open for all pre-school children and their carers at 1-30 p.m. on Tuesdays during term time in The King’s Centre, Clitheroe.

Car park green light

A NEW car park to benefit the Tosside community can be built. Plans for 26 public parking spaces

which could be used as an overspill for the community hall on a site adjacent to The Smithy have been approved. A report to the borough council's

said the plan was “small scale to meet the needs of the village hall when their small car park is full and to encourage visitors to the area to park off the nar row highways in the village”. Councillors agreed with the recom

mendation made by the officer and granted planning permission.
