A BLITZ on underage drinking in the Kibble Valley has been launched. Five people - four shop assistants and


one barman - have already been hit with fines as part of the crackdown on selling booze to children. Police teamed up with Trading Stan­


dards for a test purchasing operation. A 15-year-old girl and 16-year-oId boy were sent into nine off-licenses and four pubs in Clitheroe, Ribchester, Longridge, Langho and Whalley. Five employees were each fined £80


after selling two bottles of blue ‘Wicked, two bottles of cider and one bottle of Reef to the children. Sgt John Lindsay, of Clitheroe Police, said: “This operation was run as part of a
