Ghildren’s imaginations run wild Club’s challenge to cyclists

PUPILS from Ribblesdale High School Technology College, Clitheroe, allowed their literary imagination to run wild during a three-day festival.

: The school’s literary festival

2009 involved poetry workshops by Mike Garry, from Manchester, storytelling sessions by Pete Keal, from Hebden Bridge, ghost tales by Clitheroe’s Simon Entwistle

and a creative writing workshop by local author Jane England. ., - ;> ■ Several primary schools were

'involved, including St James, . Brookside, Pendle and St Micheal and St John, along with Years 7 to 9 pupils from Ribblesdale High. •. ' A spokesman for the school said:,

“This year’s literary festival was a great success. Outside speakers

local community were'strength ened. Over the three days more

. than 650 people enjoyed a ses- sion/workshop with one of our guests. A visit to Castlefield Home for the elderly, Clitheroe, and an in-school workshop for hearing- impaired pupils from several estab lishments were also included in what was a very successful and'

were brought in and links with the,. ■ enjoyable festi'val.” ■
