UNLIKE many farm ers in the Ribble Val ley who were forced to diversify following the foot and mouth crisis in 2001, the Backhous es at Clough Bottom Farm, Bashall Eaves, had the foresight, as early as the 1960s, to look at how the farm’s income could he boost ed by introducing dif ferent varieties of live- stock, poultry and modifying farm pro
