RIBBLE VALLEY (OFF-STREET PARKING PLACES) (CHIPPING) ORDER 2008


Notice is hereby given that on January 22 2008 Ribble Valiey Borough Councii (“the Councii”) in exercise of its powers under Sections 32, 35(1) and 35(3) to (3B) of and Scheduie 9 to the Road Traffic Reguiation Act 1984 (“the 1984 Act”) and by virtue of the Road Traffic (Permitted Parking Area and Speciai Parking Area)(County of Lancashire) Order 2004 (“the Lancashire Ordei"’) and the provisions referred to in the Lancashire Order and of all other enabling powers, and with the consent of Lancashire County Council in accordance with section 39(3) of the 1984 Act and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with paragraph 20 of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, made the above Order (“the Order). The Order will come into effect on March 1 2008. The effect of the Order is to introduce decriminalised parking enforcement (including charging on the basis that this will be a long stay car park) in the public car park off Club Lane, Chipping, between the hours of 9am and 5pm and to control and regulate the use of parking places at this car park.


The schedule to this notice shows the days and times of operation, the maximum period for waiting, the classes of vehicles for which the parking places will be available and the charges proposed to be made for the use of the parking places. Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order will be available for inspection by the public during normal office hours at the Council Offices, Church Walk, Clitheroe, BB7 2RA, for a period of six weeks from the date of this notice.


It any person wishes to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the 1984 Act, the Lancashire Order, the provisions referred to in the Lancashire Order, or any other instrument or enabling powers,- or on the grounds that any requirement of such legislation has not been complied with in relation to the Order that person may do so by application to the High Court within six weeks from the date of the making of the Order.

(TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2008


NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(l)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit any person to cause or permit any motor vehi­ cle or cycle from proceeding at a speed exceeding 30 mph over that length of Ribble Lane, Grindleton, from a point 75 metres north of the north end o f Grindleton Bridge to a point 90 metres south o f the south end of Grindleton Bridge, a distance of 200 metres, in the Borough of Ribble Valley.


The Police, Fire and Ambulance Services have been informed.


The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow bridge- works to be completed safely.


The prohibition will be operative from Monday 1 1th February 2008 until Monday 14th April 2008, or until completion of the bridgeworks, if earlier.
