L a.girli ITS ; Good news for nursery

A CLITHEROE-based nursery has earned a good pass from its Ofsted inspec-

niion. W- Assessors visited Moorland School Nursery at its base in Ribblesdale Avenue and car ried out a two-day inspection. In its report, the Ofsted

team described the nursery’s provision as “good” in helping children to be healthy; protect ing them from harm or neglect and helping them stay safe; helping children achieve well and enjoy what they do and in helping the youngsters make a positive contribution. The nursery’s organisation

was also said to be “good”, with the quality of teaching achieving the same accolade. The report said: “Staff have a secure understanding of the early learning goals and plan a balanced range of activities which motivate children to learn and enable them to make progress in all areas.” It added: “Staff provide a

Business evening

EXPERTS in web design, public relations and business support are coming to Clitheroe to advise local companies. On Tuesday a “Con

tact and Networking” evening is being hosted by Clitheroe’s Chamber of Trade. Representatives from

local businesses are invit ed to the Swan and Royal Hotel for the 5-45 p.m. meeting, which will include a pie and peas supper.

Among the experts on

hand to talk to individual businesses will be repre sentatives from Ribble Valley Borough Council, the local strategic part nership and the enter prise agency. Chamber members hope that the new format will encour age more local business people to get involved mth the organisation. Anyone wanting fur

ther details can contact Richard Jackson on 421049; Chamber presi dent Nigel P ra tt at Clitheroe • Travel or Melissa Watts at Ribble Valley Borough Council.
