Road crash leaves driver
POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a crash on the A671 near- •• Whalley which left a 60- year-old woman seriously injured. Dianna Hall, of.
Waddington, had to be- ^ airlifted to the Royal - Blackburn Hospital, when her BMW car was, •- in collision with an Audi ■. and HGV a t around 10 a.m. last, Wednesday on ■
■
Accrington Road just off the Bramley Meade roundabout; ■
■> •■■ ■ I t is believed the BMW
was being driven in the direction of Great.Har- ■ wood, when Mrs Hall pulled over in order to clear her windscreen. : A short time later, an
Audi, travelling in the ■ same direction, collided . with the back of the BMW causing the Audi to spin onto the opposite side of the road where it then collided with a HGV. As a result, the Audi then spun back towards the BMW and collided -with Mrs Hall on the road side, who became trapped . underneath the Audi for ,
around 20 minutes before being released by fire fighters. She suffered seri ous pelvic injuries, but is now said to be in a stable condition. The female driver of
the Audi, who suffered cuts, bruises and shock, was also taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital. The male driver of the HGV suffered bruising, but was not taken to hospital. The road was closed for
around four hours and diversions were put in
